Well, I'm going through Leaf Green with Squirtle only .... and its actually hard. You could try Pidgey or Rattata.

a solo run is where you use one pokemon and you cant evolution your pokemon

i don't really like solo runs they get really boring i can't watch them after a couple of eps (usually 2)
